Chocolate Peanut Butter Hearts (Printable)

Rich chocolate hearts filled with creamy peanut butter, chilled to perfection for a sweet treat.

# What You Need:

→ Chocolate Coating

01 - 7 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
02 - 1 tsp coconut oil

→ Peanut Butter Filling

03 - 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
04 - 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
05 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
06 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
07 - Pinch of salt

# Directions:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until smooth and creamy.
03 - Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of mixture and form into small hearts using hands or a small heart-shaped mold. Arrange on prepared baking sheet.
04 - Freeze peanut butter hearts for 30 minutes until firm.
05 - While chilling, melt chocolate and coconut oil in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring frequently until smooth.
06 - Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge each frozen heart in melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then return to parchment-lined tray.
07 - Optionally drizzle with remaining melted chocolate or sprinkle with sea salt.
08 - Refrigerate finished hearts for 15-20 minutes until chocolate coating is completely set.
09 - Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The combination of silky peanut butter and bittersweet chocolate hits that perfect sweet spot between rich and refreshing
  • You can make these ahead and keep them in the fridge for impromptu dessert moments all week long
02 -
  • Freezing the peanut butter centers is nonnegotiable, otherwise they'll melt right into your warm chocolate coating
  • Work quickly once you start dipping, since the cold centers will start softening as they sit at room temperature
03 -
  • Set up your dipping station with everything within reach before you start, since working with melted chocolate requires some speed
  • Keep a small bowl of warm water nearby to clean your fork or dipping tool between hearts if the chocolate starts building up
