# Directions:

01 - Peel and core apples, then cut into thick fry-shaped sticks. Toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
02 - Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and mix panko breadcrumbs with cinnamon and salt in a third bowl.
03 - Dredge apple sticks in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the panko mixture.
04 - Heat 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F. Fry apple fries in batches, turning until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
05 - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt sugar, swirling occasionally until it turns a deep amber color.
06 - Immediately add butter and stir until melted. Carefully pour in heavy cream while whisking constantly until smooth.
07 - Remove from heat and stir in sea salt. Let cool slightly before serving.
08 - Arrange apple fries on a large platter or wooden board with a bowl of warm salted caramel sauce in the center.
09 - Scatter mini marshmallows, chopped pecans, chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, and fresh berries around the fries. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The contrast between hot crispy apples and cool salted caramel is absolutely addictive
  • It transforms humble ingredients into something that feels like a restaurant dessert
  • Guests cannot resist gathering around this board and making it a shared experience
02 -
  • Work quickly when making caramel because sugar goes from perfect to burned in seconds
  • The apple fries are best right out of the fryer so time your frying to end just before serving
  • Make sure your oil is properly hot or the coating will get soggy instead of crispy
03 -
  • Pat apple sticks dry before breading or the coating will not adhere properly
  • Let the caramel cool for at least 5 minutes before serving so it coats rather than slides off
